What I’ve been jamming out to as of late on my headphones in the silent, silent English samushil (office).
Today I attended the second Korean wedding I’ve ever been to. The host brother and I went together at the request of the host mom, stood in the lobby for a grand total of one minute with a bunch of other random people looking lost (somewhere in the back a wedding [or three] is going on in a small banquet room), never said a word to anyone, were handed tickets to go to the buffet on the fourth floor, and proceeded to eat four plates each of buffet food. Neither of us ever knew who’s wedding it was, spoke to anyone, or did anything other than eat. We were in and out in under an hour.
On the way home: “Sunghyun, who’s wedding was that?”
Sunghyun: (Shrugs) ‘I have no idea’
Gathered together a few of the Mokpo group for a Saturday night picnic. Climbed a hill, and ate snacks around a hookah and listened to ’90s jams. Though, this one is becoming a favorite amongst the group; evoking some kind of sentiment for home.
