Touching moment of the week: This week, our class participated in the Korean Students Speak project by writing and making signs to be posted later on the site. Tae-Hyun (seated), is one of the most quiet, socially awkward kids in the entire school. He lacks confidence in most everything he does and is painfully shy when it comes to speaking, even in Korean. As a result, most students groan in disappointment if he gets placed on their team for group games. With less than three minutes left to go before I announced we would be taking pictures, Tae-Hyun still had nothing written on his page. “Joe” (standing), one of the more popular kids in the 1st grade noticed this, left his buddies and walked over to his desk. He talked with Tae-Hyun for a few minutes and stayed with him until they had figured out something together. “T-ara is forever” read Tae-Hyun’s sign after Joe fished out of Tae-Hyun what his favorite K-Pop band was.
